INSIDE 75 Acting and Film school

Courses and information
My teaching career began as I transitioned from acting to directing, starting with a role as an acting tutor at the esteemed Rose Bruford School of Speech and Drama. There, I led acting classes, directed end-of-term plays for the foundation course, and participated in the audition panel process. As I engaged with students pursuing their Acting BA (Hons), I noticed a gap in their screen acting preparation. To address this, I collaborated with department heads to create a specialized Acting for Screen module, which culminated in showreel pieces for graduating actors, giving them a strong start in their professional careers. I also taught at Londons- Italia Conti Drama School and Identity Acting School.
I am proud to have mentored some of today’s most promising young actors, including Posy Sterling, one of Spotlight’s Stars of Tomorrow 2024 and star of Lollipop; Elijah Holloway, a regular on Eastenders; and Gloria Obianyo, who has appeared in Eric on Netflix, Dune: Part 1, and Mission Impossible.
My approach to teaching acting is rooted in the methodologies of Stanislavsky and Meisner, enriched by my own experiences and techniques. I believe that an actor's primary responsibility is to bring the story to life, and that the key to doing so lies in the script. My goal is to equip you with the tools to internalize the script’s information and authentically embody the character through your own unique expression.
Following my time at Rose Bruford, I was invited to lecture on the Directing for Screen course at The MET Film School, based in Ealing Studios. I have taught various modules, including the 'Character and Performance' module, which is designed to give directors the skills to effectively work with actors and develop compelling characters. This module is invaluable for directors, guiding them through the process of creating and shooting a scene from scratch by the end of the six-week course.
Additionally, I taught the 'Directing for TV' module, which focuses on the fast-paced environment of television directing. This course prepares directors to adapt quickly and work efficiently within existing TV shows, honing the skills needed to succeed in a time-sensitive industry.
I approach directing in a very similar way to acting. With a strong methodology and strict script analysis along with the understanding that collaboration with the various other heads of department, such as The Director of Photography or the Production Designers will be invaluable in your story telling process.
